Considering the fact that this is an academic journal, there are chances that the opinions may be a bit biased and based on personal opinions mostly. To support their argument, the authors explain that Canadian Association of Retired Persons (CARP) have since time immemorial advocated for aging care which considers the needs of the person and not just financial needs. There are numerous types of mastectomy. Application of each of mastectomy depends on the degree of the breast removal. For instance, total mastectomy means the surgical removal of the entire breast tissue including the nipple. Alternatively, radical mastectomy calls for complete breast removal including the lymph nodes and chest muscles (Huffington, 2012). Lumpectomy is an alternative beast-removal cancer treatment; however, this process preserves most parts of the breast since only tumors are removed (Huffington, 2012). These new forms of breast cancer treatments, Double Mastectomy and Lumpectomy, are quite a development in Breast Cancer since the body is not subjected to radiation that often kills healthy
